Board Vice Chairperson
Ms. Mareko is the Chairperson of the Audit and Risk Committee (ARco). She is the Director of the Finance and Banking Unit at the Ministry of Finance and was nominated by the Minister responsible for Finance in line with Section 7 of the Gambling Act.
Her responsibilities include the review of legislation/regulations governing banks and non-bank financial institutions to incorporate new developments in the financial sector. Her portfolio includes formulation of financial services sector policies as well as developing country positions on negotiations of trade in financial services at regional and multilateral level. She also advises on credit guarantee matters. Her other responsibilities include antimoney laundering and combating the financing of terrorism.
She holds a Master of Commerce (Accounting and Finance) from the Macquarie University, Sidney, Australia, and Bachelor of Arts (Economics and Accounting) from the University of Botswana.
