Reporting to the Director, Human Resources and Administration, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating health and wellness programs
The successful candidate will be responsible for the reliable, secure administration and maintenance of the Gambling Authority’s core computer applications and systems.
Responsible for providing primary community education interventions to raise awareness about the impacts of gambling and promote responsible gambling practices.

Job Purpose
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the information technology and information management strategies of the Gambling Authority by driving digital transformation, managing the technology infrastructure and ensuring data security and integrity.
The incumbent will be responsible for, among others, the following:
Strategy
- Developing, planning and implementing a clear digital transformation strategy aligned with the organisation’s objectives.
- Develop strategies on how to respond to technological advancements in the gambling industry.
- Provides technology initiatives in the areas of enterprise resources planning and related applications, integration and workflow, business process optimisation through automation and electronic communications.
- Stays abreast of gambling industry trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation.
Technical
- In depth knowledge of IT systems and architecture
- Knowledge of cybersecurity, data management and analytics
- Good knowledge of emerging technologies, such as AI, blockchain, cryptos etc.
- Proficiency in IT governance, risk management and compliance.
Network and Maintenance
- Ensure availability of enabling information technology infrastructure.
- Leads in the development and management the organisational systems infrastructure and communication technology in order to provide the most efficient support of current and future IT operational needs of the Authority.
- Oversee the central monitoring systems and monitor the gambling industry.
Academic Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or similar qualifications.
- A postgraduate / professional qualifications and regulatory experience will be an added advantage
- A minimum of fifteen (15) years post qualifications experience with at least five (5) years’ experience in a similar role.

Job Purpose

The incumbent will be responsible for, among others, the following:
Policies & Strategy
- Contribute towards the formulation, development and review of the Authority’s corporate strategy.
- Oversees the design and implementation of human resources and administration strategic plans.
Human Capital Management
- Develop and ensure implementation of organisational development initiatives and talent management strategy and policies.
- Lead in the development and implementation of the Authority’s value proposition and competitive remuneration and benefit structures.
- Design and support training and development programmes to enhance employee skills and career development opportunities.
- Lead and implement a robust succession plan.
- Manage, lead and support a high-performance, committed HR team in order to implement strategic HR programmes and initiatives.
- Overseeing and ensuring the smooth running of HR operations (payroll, contract management, etc.).
Administration
- Ensure effective delivery of internal and outsourced administrative services including facilities management, records management, transport, travel and accommodation arrangements among others.
Academic Qualifications & Experience
- A degree in Human Resource Management, Industrial Psychology or similar qualification.

Job Purpose
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the position will be responsible for leading, directing and overseeing the Gambling Authority’s legal function and to provide Board Secretary services.
The Job
The incumbent will be responsible for, among others, the following:
Policies & Strategy
- Contribute towards the formulation and development of the Authority’s corporate strategy.
- Lead the development and implementation of the departmental strategy and day to day strategic, operational management of the department.
- Managing the development and implementation of legal frameworks, policies and procedures for enforcing the gambling and gaming laws, regulations and related industry standards.
Board Services
- Provides governance services to the Board and its Committees and Management
- Develop governance policies and procedures that provides for efficient governance services.
Legal Services
- Advise the Board management on legal matters and ensure compliance with Gambling Act,2012, Gambling Regulations and other legislation.
- Provide legal opinion based on research and sound judgement to safeguard and protect the interest of the Authority.
- Prepare draft contracts and documents relating to the Authority’s business.
International Relations
- Develop regional and international relationships and ensure compliance to international regulatory standards with the aim of advancing the effectiveness and efficiency of gaming regulation in Botswana.
Academic Qualifications & Experience
- A degree in Law and admitted to practice in Botswana.
- A postgraduate qualifications and regulatory experience will be an added advantage.
- A minimum of fifteen (15) years post qualifications experience with at least five (5) years’ experience in a similar role.
