Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Kemorwale serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Gambling Authority. His responsibilities include steering the strategic vision of the Gambling Authority, directing regulatory oversight that champions both industry innovation and player safety. He is responsible for aligning licensing standards with international best practices while actively promoting initiatives for responsible gambling. Through his leadership, the Authority successfully drives economic contribution while proactively mitigating the social impacts of gambling.
Mr. Kemorale joined the Authority at its infancy in 2016 and has risen through the ranks. He previously served as Chief of Staff, where he oversaw strategy implementation, performance reporting, stakeholder engagement, and responsible gambling initiatives. He also held the position of Director – Responsible Gambling and Corporate Affairs.
Prior to joining the Authority, Mr. Kemorwale spent almost a decade in the mining industry, leading strategic stakeholder engagement and sustainability communication initiatives. His public service experience also includes roles at the Directorate of Corruption and Economic Crime and the Botswana Agricultural Marketing Board.
He holds a Master of Business Administration and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from Regent Business School, South Africa, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities from the University of Botswana. Additionally, he has completed several short courses, including a Leadership Development Programme and Leadership in the Twenty-First Century. He is also a member of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC).
